HDIn contemporary London, a Cambodian-Chinese mother mourns the untimely death of her son. Her world is further disrupted by the presence of a stranger. We observe their difficulties in trying to connect with each other without a common language as, through a translator, they begin to piece together memories of a man they both loved.

HDKit's family fled Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam when he was 6 years old to escape the aftermath of the Vietnam-American war. More than 30 years later, he returns for the first time since, to repatriate his mother's ashes, where he also meets Lee, an estranged second cousin, Linh, a Vietnamese student, and Lewis, a gay American clothing designer. He arranges an online date with Lewis, which turns into something more. Struggling to rediscover the country he never knew, he is able to discover friendship, love, and happiness on his journey.
