Once Upon a Main Street
HDBeyond their mutual animosity stemming from their less-than-pleasant recent first encounter, Amelia Lewis and Vic Manning seem always to be competing against each other, most importantly for a commercial property each wants to purchase in White Oak, Nevada for her/his dream store, hers a year-round Christmas store, and his a chocolate shop. As each bid has its merits - hers all cash, his above asking--the real-estate agent must consult with the property owner who has the final say. Amelia and Vic separately have the same idea to discover the property owner's identity and make a personal plea directly to him (Elder Dubois, who lives an hour away in Castle Creek). They arrive there unannounced at about the same time to make individual pitches. Elder tells them that he is unable or unwilling to make a snap decision concerning the property. As Elder is all alone for Christmas for the first time since his wife recently passed and he's long been estranged from his young-adult daughter Marjorie, Amelia and Vic offer to help him with anything until he makes up his mind; he suggests that they chair Castle Creek Commercial Center's annual Christmas decorating competition. He and his wife always enjoyed doing that, but this year he hasn't the spirit without her. The competition, which is a bragging-rights-only one against the nearby town of Crystal, always seems to end up being a competition between Castle Creek's own merchants, which is probably the reason Crystal has won five years straight. The few things the Castle Creek merchants can agree on are the same Winter Wonderland theme year after year for ease, and featuring one merchant each year on a rotating basis. This year it's the pottery shop owned by the most outspoken and demanding of the bunch, Rowena Marson. In turn, Elder invites them to stay in his home rather than spending money on hotel rooms. In working on the decorating competition together, they must bring the merchants together as a cohesive whole--which means cooperating themselves. In the process, Amelia and Vic start to fall for each other. Could their emerging feelings be able to overcome their suspicions about each other concerning the property and the kind acts toward Elder, which could be seen solely as wanting that upper hand?

Faking to be a client, she sort of wins his friendship during the long drive home. He hangs around a while, mainly because of blizzard and road trouble, but also reconnects with his roots and even plays Santa for a cut-off host family's cute son Tucker, yet remains reluctant to replace Tom in the parade and his blossoming romance with Grace seems compromised.
A Very Merry Toy Store
HDWidowed Connie Forrester (Melissa Joan Hart), mother to an adolescent son, TJ (Cameron Mann), and divorced Will DiNova (Mario Lopez) are both second-generation owner/operators of their respective family business. Those businesses just happen to be both toy stores - Forrester Toys and DiNova Toys, respectively - and both located in New Britain, Connecticut, one block away from each other. Connie's father and Will's uncle, from who they inherited their respective business, used to be business partners until they had a falling out which led to the two stores so close in proximity. Both Connie and Will speak nicely about the other's store when customers ask, but quietly seethe about the existence of the other and thus are not really on speaking terms. They are also both struggling financially, with Connie soon having to make a balloon payment on the store's property mortgage, while Will is trying to buy back what was his family's home which his ex-wife got in the divorce settlement, they both hoping a good Christmas season will yield enough in revenue to make these imminent payments. They face another potential hurdle in reaching their financial goals when they learn that a Roy's Toys mega store, owned by cutthroat Roy Barnes (Billy Gardell), will be opening in New Britain just in time for the Christmas season. Connie places an injunction on the store opening as it contravenes a long-standing but little known city ordinance. The hearing to decide the injunction will be held Christmas Eve, with their friend, Mayor Ben Stevens (Mario Cantone) secretly telling them that he knows the outcome will be in their favor, but that Roy's can remain open until the hearing. As such, Will suggests to Connie that they join forces, solely on this one project until the hearing, to use whatever legal means they have at their disposal to thwart either the mega store from opening at all or if it does to ensure that all the toy business in town comes their way. If their businesses are able to survive the competition from Roy, Connie and Will may find that they will want to continue their partnership beyond this one project, both professionally and personally, that is unless one of Roy's tactics, which is to divide and conquer, works. Meanwhile, Pam Forrester (Beth Broderick), Connie's piano teacher mother, gets a new student in 68-year-old Joe Haggarty (Brian Dennehy), who recently moved to town when he purchased the diner. He has never touched a piano but wants to play at his niece's wedding in six weeks or so, he says. And Connie's younger brother Randy Forrester (Dan Amboyer), who helps in the store when he isn't crewing on a fishing boat and who isn't the brightest light in the world, may be totally oblivious to the fact that Francine (Tara Strong), one of Joe's waitresses, hangs around a lot at the store when he's there for a very specific reason, she taking extreme measures to get his attention.

Warmed-Over Krautrock
HDWhat do you do when you love music, and music doesn't love you back? It's a question that haunts Walt (Jim Tavaré), the owner of Essential Music, an indie record store in the heart of Silver Lake. Walt's all too aware of how his punk-rock glory days are fast fading in the rear-view - even as he can't help recounting war stories to his much younger employees: Lysette (Kate Dalton), who has to contend with a parade of customers convinced she's the Record Store Girl of their dreams; Chris (Derek James Elstro), the lead singer of Troubled Meats, a band poised for takeoff, and maybe not just in Chris' mind; and well-meaning music nut Duane (Adam Weber), who's a little too fluent in Rock Critic for his own good. With a love of all types of music evident in every shot, WARMED-OVER KRAUTROCK is a comedy for anyone who's ever spent too much time obsessing over playlists - and for anyone who's ever been driven crazy by that type of person, too.

Jamie admits that he fell into this seemingly unlikely career, he still dreaming of what was his initial plan to become a chef. While Kate initially declines the invitation even to meet with Shoreline, she reconsiders as she and Jamie seem to be falling for each other, the thought of making a go of the relationship by being in the same city a factor. Christmas in Angel Falls
HDGabby, a guardian angel, often gets too involved in her work in that she is not supposed intervene in people's lives directly, which she does, but rather just guide, she warned time and again by her boss, Michael, that those direct interventions inhibit the free will for them to decide their own fates. Deep down, Gabby gets involved in truly wanting to know the human feeling of extreme happiness she often sees in the people she guides, especially wanting to know the human feeling of love. Michael gives her a slightly broader and very special next assignment this Christmas season: to help bring the Christmas spirit back to the town of Angels Falls, which may exhibit the outward accouterments of Christmas but not have the inherent spirit of the holiday. Michael has a leg up on getting Gabby the position of volunteer coordinator at St. Andrew's United Church in town. On the job, Gabby learns that the town used to be filled with Christmas spirit until the town's paper mill closed leading to a downturn in the local economy and people focusing on their own needs to survive, meaning that people have also stopped volunteering. Ultimately Gabby decides to do for the entire town what she was hired to do for the church, which is to bring back the old Christmas traditions that no longer occur, with the largest piece of the puzzle to reopen what is now the closed community center, which closed solely due to structural issues with the building and no money to fix them. In getting that and other Christmas jobs done, Gabby has to tap into the many personal stories of Angel Falls in discovering how each person lost his or her Christmas spirit. The one person who still does seem to be filled with that spirit is Jack Avery, the volunteer fire department chief, and the owner/operator of the local hardware store. Gabby, however, discovers something about Jack's past which may taint the way she deals with him on this project. Through it all, she still has to discover why this assignment is so special as Michael coined it, which may affect her post assignment life in not wanting to leave Angel Falls and understanding that the feeling she has been having is love for Jack in particular.
