Then a goofy flamingo causes havoc in his flock with his yo-yo to the tune of the finale of "Carnival of the Animals." When a rough cut is screened, Hearst gets wind of the movie's theme and begins a campaign to see that it is not only never publicly screened, but destroyed.

But Jonas is interested in robbing as much as possible to start a new life in Mexico. He meets a dangerous criminal to fence the jewelry and the Porsches of the family. But the family returns and Kelley and Jonas need to flee from the house. When Kelley is wandering on the streets, she stumbles upon a movie theater that is showing Charles Chaplin's "The Kid". She buys a ticket and realizes that she is alone in the theater; out of the blue, Michael enters the theater and sits near her. Soon they drink coffee together and Michael dates Kelley and falls in love with her. Kelly does not disclose her past to Michael but soon she is haunted by what she did.

Strange murders start occurring in the town of Ruby, Arizona with the victims' corpses left decomposed in acid. At first, the suspicion falls upon John Cooper due to his family being involved in operating a chemical plant and one of the corpses being of his ex-girlfriend. With Jack on the team, Steven's team is on their way to a league championship, but Jack's notoriety attracts the unfortunate attention of Dr. Peabody, who is determined to send Jack back to his new owners.
