Tiffany needing to dangle a carrot in front of him, Brooks is a reluctant participant in not believing he needing a makeover, which in turns leads to on camera torment purposefully by Brooks toward Tiffany in she tormenting him purely by being the boss of the process. Once they let their guard down and discover more about the other including why Brooks' house with the good foundation largely sits empty, Tiffany and Brooks seem to be teetering on the verge of romantic feelings for the other. What may prevent them from taking that leap on the personal side are Haiden's admission to her that he returned to the show largely in wanting to get back together, and if Tiffany makes a major decision with the renovation/makeover that hurts Brooks in favor of good television, a strong possibility as she learns this show with Brooks will be the deciding factor whether Renovation Project: Lifestyles or Flip It Up will be the sole survivor into HDC's new season.

While Ben is indeed dealing with his last girlfriend Jennifer having recently broken up with him, Ben, if being honest to himself, would admit that it is the breakup with a former girlfriend, Serena, from ten years ago that has made him a broken man unable to commit. Two opposing items complicate matters between Miranda and Ben. First, they start to fall for each other, no dating between camp members one of the golden rules in the inherent issues with the rebound. That may be a moot point with the second in Ben's assignment editor Leo learning of he being in boot camp: to write an exposé on Miranda and the camp, a promotion to an editorial position and a corner office pending the resulting article.

What makes it even more difficult is that the proprietor/head chef, Tom Billings, had no idea of the makeover - the submission made by his loving family, his Aunt Marge, the diner waitress, and his teen daughter, Claire - and resists any change to Rocko's in reverence and memory to his deceased parents, from who he inherited the diner, and his regulars who he believes expect "diner" in what he presents to them. The diner is despite Tom actually having innate culinary skills beyond that of a diner line cook, and he long having fantasized about something different than a diner if he were to start a culinary life all over again, something that both Marge and Claire know. As Tom reluctantly gives in in honoring Marge and Claire, and as Abby and Tom seem to be able to find a middle ground in what Rocko's should actually be, the two start to fall for each other, the chemistry which Kenna and the camera, and by association the network, can see. Beyond Abby needing to move to whatever her next makeover after Rocko's, a happy ending for her and Tom may be at risk by what the network wants, which first and foremost is good television.
