During Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, he finds a book that once belonged to the mysterious Half-Blood Prince that earns him the respect of his new Potions professor Horace Slughorn. In addition, Dumbledore must prepare Harry for the ultimate final confrontation by finding out the secret behind Voldemort's power. Harry's (Daniel Radcliffe's) fourth year at Hogwarts is about to start and he is enjoying the summer vacation with his friends. They get the tickets to The Quidditch World Cup Final, but after the match is over, people dressed like Lord Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes') "Death Eaters" set a fire to all of the visitors' tents, coupled with the appearance of Voldemort's symbol, the "Dark Mark" in the sky, which causes a frenzy across the magical community. That same year, Hogwarts is hosting "The Triwizard Tournament", a magical tournament between three well-known schools of magic : Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. The contestants have to be above the age of seventeen, and are chosen by a magical object called "The Goblet of Fire". On the night of selection, however, the Goblet spews out four names instead of the usual three, with Harry unwittingly being selected as the Fourth Champion. Since the magic cannot be reversed, Harry is forced to go with it and brave three exceedingly difficult tasks.

Forced to spend his summer holidays with his muggle relations, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) gets a real shock when he gets a surprise visitor: Dobby (Toby Jones) the house-elf, who warns Harry against returning to Hogwarts, for terrible things are going to happen. This is the tale of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), an ordinary eleven-year-old boy serving as a sort of slave for his aunt and uncle who learns that he is actually a wizard and has been invited to attend the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry is snatched away from his mundane existence by Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), the groundskeeper for Hogwarts, and quickly thrown into a world completely foreign to both him and the viewer. Famous for an incident that happened at his birth, Harry makes friends easily at his new school. He soon finds, however, that the wizarding world is far more dangerous for him than he would have imagined, and he quickly learns that not all wizards are ones to be trusted.

One day, while Solange is studying sheep-shaped dust formations in her apartment, the doorbell rings. A deliveryman claims to have a package for her. Solange is formal in her response: That's impossible. The deliveryman insists, and miss understanding ensues. Solange collapses. After asking questions about her social and personal life, a doctor suggests that someone watch over Solange at night. her landlord, who drove her to see the doctor devotes himself to the task. Later, remembering his other obligations, he must recruit a new watchman...A veritable human chain is put into place to prevent Solange from being left alone. This relational therapy seems beneficial.

In Boulder, Colorado, Grady, who comes from an old money family but who has struck out on his own as a half owner of a fly fishing business, has just unexpectedly passed. The fourth in that buddy friendship is Fritz, a Los Angeles based director of commercials, he who came in for the funeral and who is staying with Dennis, Sam and now Gray for as long as he is in town. Gray has never much liked seemingly self-absorbed Fritz, his current presence which only strengthens that notion as he displays no sense of anything about Grady, let alone grief. In the process of dealing with his estate, Gray discovers some hidden aspects of what was Grady's recent life, both of a financial nature and an associated personal nature. She turns in part to Grady's friends for answers and support, and while Dennis is the one who wishes she turned to in being secretly in love with her, Gray ends up bonding unexpectedly with Fritz as this information answers a lot of questions she had about his and Grady's friendship. Things within this grouping get even more complicated with the arrival into town from Los Angeles of a woman named Maureen and her preschool aged son Mattie, who are somewhat in the center of that hidden issue concerning Grady.

Stevie, Lisa's lowlife of a former boyfriend, decides to help Lisa get back at Tom in an effort for him to get Lisa back, which includes using violent tactics. He does so despite knowing Lisa will lie to get what she wants. Meanwhile, Meg comes to realization that Tom is hiding things from her, the extent of those secrets which she is unaware. She is also unaware that Tom's actions not only may break up their marriage but puts Tom and her life in danger.

In this midquel of the original The Fox and the Hound (1981), Tod and Copper are drawn toward a local carnival. Among these attractions is a group of singing dogs, who hope to one day make it to the Grand Ole Opry. Along the way, Tod and Copper's friendship is tested as they spend so much time away from each other. Hopefully, they'll make amends before facing this challenge again in the original film.

Norman Oppenheimer is the President of New York based Oppenheimer Strategies. His word-of-mouth business is consulting work largely in American-Israeli business and politics, that focus due to being Jewish. Most of that work is as a fixer: doing work that others don't want to do and with which they don't want to be officially associated. In reality, Norman is a shyster, and not a very good one at that. His office is comprised of his cell phone and whatever is stuffed in his satchel which is usually slung over his shoulder as he wanders the streets. What he promises is making connections, setting up a meeting between his guy and the other guy. Generally, "his guy" is non-existent, he dropping names of people he usually doesn't know to make connections. A usual tactic he uses is to say that his deceased wife was personally connected to so-and-so, such as being a babysitter, those stories always untrue. All he needs is for one of the people that he approaches to believe a story to build that network. Not so much a story, but an act of kindness with that ulterior motive does eventually pan out as the connection of which he could have only dreamed. He is able to build off that connection to become the toast of the town, a status upon which he tries to parlay into being an even bigger fish in the pond. But the greater his exposure, the greater the potential scrutiny about him as a person, which could bring his fragile network come crumbling down around him.

The many problems with it even as a suggestion are that: the inn has been closed ever since Nick's mother, Charlie's wife Clarissa passed away years ago, it having gone into a state of disrepair over time; the country setting does not mesh with Amy's urban sensibilities; and arguably most importantly, Nick and Charlie have long not been on speaking terms in the aftermath of Clarissa's passing. In Nick making the request regardless for his friend, Charlie does agree to let them use the inn. In the process, Molly and Nick have to handle most of the wedding planning on a shoestring as Amy and James attend to family finance business. In Molly and Nick trying to find a common ground around the style and the food for the wedding, the collective five of Molly, Nick, Amy, James and Charlie may truly come to an understand of the meaning of love, both in the familial sense as well as the romantic sense, with Molly and Nick only if they are open to allowing themselves to feel love.

Despite it not being a good time for either Anna or Clay - she having just opened her own law firm and having an important client which could cement or break the firm's reputation, and he slated to give a keynote address at a prestigious medical conference in Miami - they both decide to place their professional life on hold to head to Seattle immediately to confront the bride and groom respectively. Anna and Clay's feelings about the wedding are exacerbated by their initial antagonistic meeting which happens before even knowing who the other is. But Anna and Clay are able to put their antagonism for each other aside to focus on a common goal: to stop the wedding. Beyond the primary reasons, Anna and Clay may have grounds for concern as Belle and Sean are like night and day: Belle is an outdoorsy person who would like to live on a ranch, while Sean likes the pampered lifestyle of the Hollywood elite. Anna and Clay ultimately coming to the conclusion that Belle and Sean really do care for each other does not lessen their concerns about the wedding. But in seeing that true love can flourish in such a short amount of time leads to both Anna and Clay looking at the other in a more romantic light. But a happy end for Belle and Sean, and Anna and Clay are not a guarantee due to the differences that exist within each couple, and for Anna and Clay the view of the world of divorce within which Anna lives.

Approximately 24 hours, from morning to morning, in the life of New York City-based jazz singer Vivienne Carala (Sarah Jessica Parker) is presented. On this day, she has a rehearsal in preparation for a weekend gig starting tomorrow celebrating her 25th anniversary of performing at Birdland - the rehearsal where she knows she will see Jordan (Taylor Kinney), her drummer with whom she has a casual sexual relationship - followed by an interview largely to promote her latest album. Beyond these two items, she will try to fill her day without going home knowing that her overbearing French mother, Jeanne (Jacqueline Bisset), has made another of her unexpected visits. This day is upended in its front side by a medical appointment she has told no one about, let alone her exasperated manager Ben (Common) in she being late for the rehearsal because of it, at which she receives the news of a terminal brain tumor diagnosis - the head pain symptoms which she had long ignored in being too busy to deal with it - with the best case scenario being a 14-month survival, only with treatment. Beyond the commitments of the rehearsal and the interview which are affected by the news, Vivienne, who wants to keep the news to herself for the time being in wanting to live her life, knows she has two logistical issues--needing to tell her ex-husband Nick (Simon Baker), who has custody of their teen daughter Lucie (Gus Birney), they who will have to figure out how to break the news to Lucie; and needing to have one person accompany her to the hospital the following morning, whether that person be Nick or she needing to confide to one other person. Aside from how she will process this news in relation to the people close to her including Nick, Lucie, Jeanne, Ben and Jordan, her own process of dealing with the news internally is affected by, among other things, encounters with two unexpected people, Tessa (Renée Zellweger), an old friend she hasn't seen in a while and who is out celebrating her birthday, and a Lyft driver (Waleed Zuaiter) who also seems to be having a bad day.

The weekend starts off with a bang when Olivia arrives at the Inn to discover the owner is former pop star Mick Turner, her college sweetheart, they who were each other's first love. Olivia performed in and wrote songs for his band at the time. Without Olivia, Mick and the band left when they got their first tour and a record deal, Mick and Olivia never having reconnected after that based solely on the circumstances of the time leading to a misunderstanding of the situation on both their parts, all this happening thirty years ago. Based on the way their relationship ended, their reunion is an uncomfortable one. One other person who will not be happy to see Mick is Olivia's judgmental oft-married but currently single mother Nora Winters, who never thought Mick was devoted enough to Olivia, he focused too much on the music. Grace knew nothing of this past life of her mother's, while Julie knew only of a woman her father dated in college. Recently widowed Mick, largely seen as the catch of the area of the middle aged set, has only recently felt ready to reenter the dating pool. Soon to be an empty nester and alone with only the memories, Mick is thinking about selling the Inn, which he has troubles telling Julie as it's the only home she's ever known. Grace, Julie and Duke, the Inn's chef who was the band's drummer, see a spark between Mick and Olivia, Duke who knew them as a couple. Although Grace likes Josh, she sees him more as a business partner than a husband for her mother. As such, Grace, Julie and Duke hope that the course of true love happens for Olivia and Mick to have a happily ever after, even if it's thirty years later than when it should have.
