A meteor enters the Earth's atmosphere and splits in two pieces. One piece strikes the center of a small mountain town and immediately starts to freeze everything and everyone nearby. The second piece forms a tropical zone amongst the snow and ice. A university grad student and a local man struggle to join the two pieces of the meteorite back together to save the town and mankind.

For the most part it's a tale of an adolescent, Trevor, who gets picked on a lot at school. Not as much as he used to, because the year before he called in a phony bomb threat, complete with a working bomb (minus anything that would actually explode). Because of this, parents and teachers are afraid of him, and his fellow students generally avoid him, except for a group of outcasts called the "Trogs". As violence by the Jocks against the Trogs escalates, Trevor is the suspect for anything gone wrong, even though he didn't necessarily do anything. One teacher is willing to give Trevor the benefit of the doubt, and casts him in a highly controversial play about (what else?) school shootings. It all comes to a head as some other students create a plan to bring guns to school and kill everyone in the cafeteria.

Through Eddie's wit and guile, he gives Sam that last night and finally finds the real meaning of Christmas the gambler's way.

A triangle of sorts is presented. The common side of it is small-town lawyer Sam Taylor, who is probably one of the town's most eligible bachelors and is still looking for the right woman. She sees her store as an alternative, rather than competition, to the only other bridal shop in town, Ever After: while Ever After is traditional, catering perhaps more to the vision mothers have for their ideal daughter brides, So You Said Yes is more eclectic in that Annabelle wants brides to feel comfortable in presenting themselves as they truly are at their wedding as opposed to what bridal magazines may show as the standard.
