    Shadow Nation

    Shadow Nation

Shadow Nation is alive with music and passion as it follows a group of renowned Rock musicians, led by George Lynch (Dokken/Lynch Mob) on a journey of discovery as they travel through Native American reservations throughout the southwest and Great Plains. Forging new friendships they learn about the many injustices done to Native Americans, and how those seeds of repression have contributed to the poverty, alcoholism and illness that continue to plague the reservations. The film features the thoughts and opinions of people like philosopher Noam Chomsky, activists and musicians Tom Morello and Serj Tankian and even political lighting rod Ted Nugent. As manifest destiny unfolded a couple of centuries ago, a critical opportunity of merging two cultures was lost. Shadow Nation reveals the vacuous nature of our modern world-view, a philosophy of unrestrained materialism, disconnected from the natural world. A powerful message when juxtaposed against the historical world-view of indigenous people. Their connection to the earth, their sense of humility and compassion, and their belief that all actions have long lasting consequences are inspiring. This powerful film was a passion project for George Lynch; Grammy nominated, with a career spanning more than thirty years, he is one of the most recognizable names in the world of rock guitar. Together with veteran, award-winning documentary and television producer Mark McLaughlin, their dedication to shine a light on the plight of the American Indian and to explore that story through film and music is boundless.
